Before I could walk I was in the water. In my pre-adolescence, I caught the bug for surfing and I was given my first custom board as well as the opportunity to learn how to build my own. Once I first felt the magic that goes into building something functional from start to finish, I was hooked.
While I pursued other passions I still took every opportunity I got to create over the years. From truck and van build outs, furniture in our home, or shaping surfboards. I continue to seize the moment and build the things I dream up.
Eventually I realized I was drawn to wood as a material of focus. From spending time in trees, to the beauty of processed timber, or the fun in constructed projects it inspires me and just makes me so happy.
After years of hobby tinkering I was lucky enough to end up working in multiple wood shops under the guidance of talented men and women. I was exposed to everything from stick and timber framing to custom furniture builds. The vast spectrum of carpentry continues to excite me and push me deeper into the craft.
I constantly strive to learn new techniques and improve my process. I am grateful for this material and the oportunity to use it as self expression. While always easier said than done, I never want a creation to feel forced or fought. I have found when the process is met with grace and humility is when the best results are produced. This has been my most successful design approach.
Whether I am working on a custom piece or developing my own I aim to celebrate a pathway for love and play. This intention is put into everything I make and I hope it brings you that same joy with every use!
